'Tightening the noose': Crackdown on defectors fills North Korea prison camps
Wed Jun 12, 2013
Communism's favorite tactic since the beginning: "if they won't drink the red kool-aid, then force it down their throats with slave labor." Why bother touting the "benefits" of communism, when you can simply point an AK-47 at their head and make them work for free?
Benz's bright idea: Light up the hood ornament
Thu Jun 6, 2013
As a kid, several decades ago (pre-daimler chrysler) I saw the Mercedes Benz logo on TV commercials and thought it was identical to the 5-point Dodge logo, so I always told people that we drove a Mercedes cargo van.
Bridge collapse could cost Washington state millions, jobs
Fri May 24, 2013
That bridge looks nearly identical to the cantilever western span that's being replaced on the San Francisco Bay Bridge. It looks like one good 5.0 magnitude earthquake could put that entire bundle of rusty toothpicks in the river.
I'm a Skittle! I'm a Beatle! '90s lyrics gone mad
Mon May 20, 2013
To polka music (the better version): "Soy...un perdedor! I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me. EVERYBODY!"
North Korea fires more missiles, condemns US and South for 'war measures'
Mon May 20, 2013
Makes you wonder what kid they "made an example of" before the "dear leader" arrived for the photo-op. "This is you. This is you with gun pointed to head. <bang>. Be happy and clap, or else you get like this one."
White House defends IRS handling, McConnell asserts 'culture of intimidation'
Sun May 19, 2013
Wow, one day it's "we're gonna get to the bottom of Benghazi and the IRS", the next it's a "culture of intimidation". Playing both the "attack-dog card" and the "victim card" at the same time takes some psychotic skill.
House again votes to repeal 'Obamacare'
Thu May 16, 2013
Every time a bill is sent to the White House they have to spend three weeks making sure there's no "repeal Obamacare clause" buried in the paperwork.
Iowa's biggest economic project ever: $1.9b wind turbine plan
Wed May 8, 2013
People think renewables are such a great thing, but neither wind nor solar provide baseload power to the grid. Sometimes the wind blows in the middle of the night when everyone is alseep and nobody is using power. All that energy is wasted. Massive water towers could provide storag …
North Korea rejects talks with South's 'puppet regime'
Fri Apr 26, 2013
" 'If the South's puppet regime turns a blind eye to reality and continues to pursue a worsening of the situation, we will be forced to take a final and decisive important measure,' a spokesman for the commission was quoted as saying." Oh, now look who's all formal and official-sounding...I guess …
Senate votes unanimously to fix FAA furloughs
Thu Apr 25, 2013
When it's a travel inconvenience for the public, there's little headway...but God forbid the politicians get inconvenienced with delays and tolls.
